Literature Text

I am avalanche, avalanche
Torn from the side of a mountain
Tumbling through rivers and fountains
Out to the mouth of the ocean

Covered in seaweed, all serpentine
Washed back and forth by the breakers
Ocean, my god and my maker
Rocks me in almost perpetual motion

It takes such devotion
To wear all my rough edges smooth
I wait and I rest in the water
Until I become something new

Once I was avalanche, avalanche
Kissing the side of a mountain
Why did I so love a place
That could not take me as I was
I actually wrote this back in March, on my seventeenth birthday, and then promptly forgot about it. I recently rediscovered it in my journal and worked up some chords to go with it, so now it is an actual song and I feel happier about posting it.

The chord progression is C/D/F/C for the first, second, and fourth stanzas, and C/B/C/B for the third. All chord changes are during the last word of the given line.

I've missed your awesome poetry. This is win.
Are you planning on recording yourself {or anyone else} sing it, whether with music or just acapella, and uploading it somewhere? Cause i'd love to hear that. ^_^
